Andrew is fifth generation in the McKinney family jewellery business and has learnt that the four generations before him were dynamic business people in so far as when styles changed or business conditions changed, they quickly adapted. Andrew believes this is the secret to the longevity of the McKinney name in the industry. Andrew has a Graduate Gemology Degree from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Through the course, Andrew has gained both technical expertise and practical skills to evaluate gemstones by the International Diamond Grading System, and the Coloured Stone Identification and Grading System. The GIA is one of the most prestigious credentials in the industry, the program gave Andrew the comprehensive knowledge of diamonds, coloured stones and jewellery design needed to succeed anywhere in the jewellery industry.
